I can't get my library or books to load

ADE crashed when I was adding a book to the library earlier today and now all I get is a blank screen like I have a book open and I can't do anything.  The screen is frozen.  I can't even close the

program without going through task manager.  I tried unauthorizing/authorizing and redownloading with the same same results.  Any suggestions?  I use Windows 10 and this is a big problem for me as I review books professionally and need this to authorize the books.

LATEST

Closed Digital Edition. Go to My Digital Edition folder under your Documents and rename the folder to My Digital Edtion.old. Then start Digital Edition again. Now load a eBook over file > add to Library.
