Short Filename

When originally created, my projects used .html extensions throughout. When I upgraded to RH5, now when I use "generate primary layout" to update my file, it defaults to using the .htm extension. As a result, all links throughout our intranet to these documents are broken. How can I disable the short filenames feature to build my HTML Help projects using the .html extension?

Welcome to the forum

RH has never worked with the HTML extension. You say "when originally created...". Created in RH?

Yes, the files were originally created in RoboHelp, in whatever version was available about 5-6 years ago. I updated to RH 5 last year. In the earlier version, though, I was able to choose .htm or .html.

I'll defer to Rick Stone on what was possible in earlier versions.

Yes I'm sure Rick can confirm exactly which version that had the ability to save to both file extensions (X4.1?). I do remember this. Not that I used it though
