So I notice that even when the mesh is properly applied to my character, the arms still move in a very awkward and rubber-like way. I have tried using sticks but what I really need is some sort of hinge where the arm can rotate from a point instead of being warped.
At this time, Character Animator doesn't support inverse kinematics, which would allow you to grab the hand and solve the joint angle equations to position the rest of the arm. Sticks act as lines within the warped image that remain rigid. That being said, I've seen good results creating two sticks per arm; one from the shoulder to the elbow, another from the elbow to the wrist.
Ah, ok. I've been playing around with sticks and I have gotten a pretty good result from that but placing them is a bit of trial and error. Thank you!
