Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.1 (64-bit machine)

My flash player does not work.

    • Operating system version - Windows 8.1

    • Web browser and version – Internet Explorer: 11.0.9600.18125, Update: 11.0.26(KB3104002), Product ID: 00150-20000-00003-AA459

    • Windows Update Standalone Installer: Security update for Windows (kb3103688) is already installed on this computer.

    • Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible:

Flash Player is pre-installed with Internet Explorer in Windows 8.1.
For more info, see Flash Player issues | Windows 8.

Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled.
Please go to step 2.

Sorry, your computer does not have the latest Flash Player installed.
Please go to step 2.(Your version:11.7.700.224 Latest Version:17.0.0.188)

These messages are given despite trying to Enable Flash Player in my browser following “For Internet Explorer, see Enable Flash Player for Internet Explorer”.

I have been to Microsoft, Adobe and I get the same thing from everyone. Is there a way to get my flash player to work and if so how.

I think it would be simple just to update my flash player, but for the past four days I have been trying unsuccessfully.

I am going around in circles and getting nowhere. I need to have someone tell me if this problem is with my computer or another source.

Hi,

As of Windows 8, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer and all updates are distributed by Microsoft, not Adobe.

In addition to verifying Flash Player is enabled, please ensure ActiveX Filtering is disabled, see Fix ActiveX problems in Flash Player on Internet Explorer.

Today is patch Tuesday, which means Microsoft will be releasing all sorts of updates, including an update to Flash Player for IE.  I don't know when they'll make this live, as the update has not yet posted to Microsoft Security Advisory 2755801
