I am using SOLR and Coldfusion to index a collection of PDFs.

Am I able to get hold of the page number in search results?

I would like to link directly to the page using the syntax   http://myserver/files/selectedfile.pdf#page=5

Can I pull the page number for the page that the keyword matched on?

Thanks.

As far as going to a specific page, the only way that I have found via Google is to separate each page into its own PDF.  Inefficient, time consuming, tedious, and totally not worth the effort.

It used to be that you could link to the PDF and highlight all instances of the keyword, focusing on the first one.  But, something changed in the PDF plugin from Adobe, and that functionality no longer works (at least, it stopped working for me and I've never found a fix for it.)

I know that this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I don't think there's an easy way to achieve what you are looking for.

V/r,
