We have been getting false security information from the Adobe Flash Player Updater! -- WHY?

We've been getting this misinformation,  when we have a restricted or no internet connection, and the flash player actually is very out of date due to critical security problems, and so we need to install a new version :

(Alert says

[Title: Update Adobe Flash Player]
Adobe Flash Player is Up to date on your system.

[Button: DONE]

)

Adobe needs to fix this, agreed?

It's NOT security information in any imaginable way. It's a Flash Player updater and nothing more. Further, if there's NO internet connection for the updater to VERIFY that there's a new version available... It CANNOT and WILL NOT show that your version is in need of an update. The updater uses a connection and data feedback to determine if the installed version is current. In this case it can't determine if anything's available or newer, so it says "Flash Player is up to date". I had an iMac G3 that NEVER had an internet connection, and it would indicate out-of-date software was up to date all the time.

Adobe CANNOT fix this because it is NORMAL behavior for the updater and Adobe can't access offline computers to update them.

It may have been "NORMAL behavior" for the Adobe updater in 2013, but it's by no means normal behavior for properly-written software. Apps can check for Internet availability- in fact, I assume that Adobe has fixed this since these posts were written. I hope so.

Sorry- it is security information in a very obvious way- false security information.

You need to update Flash Player manually; use this installer for a Mac without Internet access: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_player_11_osx.d...
