My computer has an authorized Adobe Digital Edition (v. 2.0), but when I try to download an e-book borrowed from the library, a “license key” problem prevents the download.

This looks promising but in my Registry Editor I couldn't find Software/Adobe.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER has hundreds of subfolders, but no “Software”.
My Registry Editor has four other folders. When I searched for Adobe, it only appears in the following location:
Folder: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
subfolder "acrobatsecuritysettings"
item Content Type RG_SZ. Data "application/vnd.adobe.acrobat-security-settings"
When I searched for adept, it appeared in the same folder, then subfolder "acsm"
Content Type RG_SZ, item "application/vnd.adobe.adept+xml"
Do you think these files can be used to proceed with your instructions 6 through 11?
Thank you again.

Nanaky,
This is just to thank you for your efforts to help a stranger.
I'm giving up. I tried uninstalling ADE and installing it anew but that didn't help. I can still use my Nook for everything except borrowing library books.

Digital Edition are by uninstall not remove the registry for the authorize. This can do only over the registry or the menue point.
