I am getting a message that it is being de-commissioned via this link - http://www.adobe.com/sea/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html. Can you explain this?

Hi,

Th\e page does not state that Flash Player is being decommissioned.  It is stating that that specific distribution page is being decommissioned and that enterprise users (companies/organizations that distribute Flash Player within their network) must apply for a license to distribute Flash Player.  If this is your situation, please apply for a distribution license at http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html‌. You will then receive an email with a unique URL link (unique to you) to download the Flash Player installers from and distribute within your organization.  If this is not your situation Flash Player continues to be available at https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.

I'm glad to answer any questions you may have on this transition.  If I can't answer directly, I'll forward them to the licensing team for a reply.

Does this apply to educational institutions as well such as a Community College? We use and install the free version of Flash Player for our lab and classroom computers.

Thanks for the info.

Hi,

Yes, this applies to educational institutions as well. Essentially any organization that distributes Flash Player within their organization would need to license Flash Player for distribution.

So, Adobe Flash Player will no longer be a free product for download on multiple work stations? I have an Adobe ID. Can I still log in with those credentials and retain the free download for Adobe Flash Player?

Hi,

For the vast majority of use cases, licensing Flash Player for internal distribution is free.  More information is available here: http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html‌ and in the Licensing Agreement itself: http://www.adobe.com/products/clients/all_dist_agreement.html‌.

The Upcoming Flash Player Distribution Changes FAQ may also be of assistance.
