Here's a nit to pick:

I always insert a meta tag that says, copyright 2008 Mycompany Inc.

Which is correct?

<meta name="generator" content="© 2008 Mycompany Inc.">
<meta name="generator" content="&#169; 2008 Mycompany Inc.">


Just in case they look the same on the forum, the second line has
& # 169 ;
for the symbol.

Does it matter here?

I would say the latter is safer as it should be understood by any browser.
