I'm having the same problem. I have InDesign CC 2015 and I installed an update this morning. This this update I cant open InDesign. I just get the message: Adobe InDesign CC 2015 has stopped working. A problem caused the progam to stop working correctly. Please close the program.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign and still get the same error.
Maybe the latest updated has F'd up InDesign?

I'm on OSX 10.10.3 with the updated InDesign CC-2015.3. On a MacBook Pro without Retina display.
As far as I can see I have no problems starting it or using it.

I am having the same responses as Richard. Have no issues opening Illustrator and other Adobe Cloud programs. The issue with InDesign only started yesterday.

Could be not feasible; hopefully some Windows users chime in here.
Not sure if this is good news or bad. I just finished installing the update here on Win 7 Pro x64, and it works fine.
Sorry to hear that you had to face such type of issue with the latest update. Please share the crash dump with us via Dropbox, you may inbox me the link.
To create crash dump on Windows, when it crashes, do not exit the application, instead go to Task Manager>InDesign>Right Click>Create Dump.
In the meanwhile, as a workaround, try taking the back-up of Cache and Preference folder and then relaunch the App
Prefs : C:\Users\<username>AppData\RoaminAdobe\InDesign ---rename to-- C:\Users\<username>AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign_bk
Cache : C:\Users\<username>AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign ---rename to-- C:\Users\<username>AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign_bk
Please note that this would reset your Workspace settings and remove some of your custom presets; in order to, later retrieve the original settings you will have to restore these folders back.

Same problem here on Win 10 Machine and inDesign CC (2015)
I re - installed from a download from Adobe Website back to ver 2015.0 - and that works
So i would say the latest update is BUGGY

Unfortunately that day I didn’t have my phone so I didn’t get a call from Adobe.
Just trying to download it again now, hopefully it works.

I solved the issue by going to the Adobe website and clicking there to install InDesign, it installed a previous version of the latest updated version and worked for me. Now I'm just not bothing with the update. It's an utter joke by Adobe.
I too get this error. After the latest update, InDesign just crashes after a certain point. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, removing preference folders, ctrl-alt-shift reset preferences, changing permissions, changing folder attributes, nothing works.
When looking in my logs, it seems to choke on typekitc4.dll, so I tried renaming that file. InDesign won't start without it. I tried turning it off in Creative Cloud. Doesn't matter if it's off or on, InDesign crashes.
I'm really tired of digging under the hood for solutions. This kind of stuff should not happen.
Why should we pay for software that doesn't work?
I can't even revert to InDesign 2014 because it won't load 2015 files. So I'm at a standstill...

It would be great if you can try the solution marked as correct in the post.
As I stated originally, I have tried everything in that post.
- reset my preferences (alt-ctrl-shift)
- deleted preferences
- renamed preference folders
- permissions for the preference folders are user and system with full control
- set up a new account in Windows, started InDesign so it would create new preferences for a different user, copied those folders to my existing account
- Uninstalled and reinstalled
- Crashes during "Executing startup services"

In the meanwhile, Sign out (NOT quit) of Creative Cloud (Preferences>General>Sign out) and sign in again. This may help in re-starting TypeKit service.

For anyone wondering, the crashing after update to InDesign 11.3 is a known issue.
If you can find InDesign 11.2, that would be your best bet. Uninstall 11.3 and reinstall 11.2.

Thanks for reporting the issue to us. We are working towards identifying the root cause and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
But recently, we were able to isolate few steps that could help in resolving the matter in quite a number of scenarios.
For that, please go to your LAN settings and un-check all the check boxes present in the dialog.
Type “internet options” in start menu>Connection Tab>LAN Settings.
Please note that it is not complete workaround but only a troubleshoot mechanism to isolate the root cause.

I absolutely second that.
I just found the LAN thing and unboxed it, restarted the PC and Indesign opened. At least I can finish my job for my client. I have worked with InDesign since the first version was born and this version is the first one to completely f... up. Quality control please. This is like selling a car which can't drive.
Changing LAN settings works fine (no restart necessary for me), but I'm not supposed to change these settings, because of company IT rules. After manage to start InDesign, i did change the LAN settings back to normal, and InDesign seems to work fine. But, I need to do this every time, so please, solve this problem as soon as possible.
Now a fix is available for the issue.

That was the most weird thing ever, what i just did. we have 3 accounts on this pc. 2 admin and normal
I just logged into the main admin account, and installed creative cloud and installed indesign.
I then reboot pc log into the standard account, the indesign now works but the weird part is my on own acocunt apps are set to be installed on english international as it says for all the apps.
but the indesign is in Danish, wich is the one that is installed on the other Admin Account... wtf is going on this is getting so confused....
1 Question why is it indesign wont run on a non Admin user account, befor the indesign is installed on the admin account ????
the adobe account to install the indesign, was same as the one installed on the normal one.
I am having problems getting InDesign (also photoshop and illustrator, but let's start with InDesign!) to work.
I have quit, uninstalled, signed in, and tried to reinstall. I have renamed my default files. I have tried to do the fix with the zip file (replacing a typekitC4). It didn't work, see above.
Nothing has worked so far.
I manage to spend a lot of time watching it download, then it hangs on 'executing startup services.'
