i recently had some images corrupted (date created changed to 12/31/69) and when i spoke with applecare they told me that that i shouldn't rename/move folders within lightroom itself, that i should move them using the finder and then point lightroom to them after the fact. is this true? this seems like an annoying extra step, but i also don't want to take any risks. (although could have been bc i renamed the external drive itself, who knows).

i also move large folders from my internal drive to my external drives within lightroom because i like how it removes them from the internal (source) instead of just copying them over. is this safe or is there a better way?

thanks in advance for your help!
