how to uninstall photoshop 5.5

I have PS 5.5 on Win 7. Trying to uninstall but the message "Your uninstallation encountered errors"  pops up every time. Running as administrator. Tried to reinstall but a window pops up with "Your installation encountered errors" and "installer failed to initialize." Stand alone computer with no "security" at present. Any suggestions to uninstall?
