If I do that will I loose any work I have done n my images so far using CC?
Also CC has crashed on me multiple times when processing in the Develop module. Could be my system is not up to it, but I really don't want to upgrade my Mac for at least another year. The following is my current system, should I buy LR 5 or 6 based on what my hardware can handle? I only work with still images, not video. I'm pretty useless when it comes to computers, so would appreciate any kind help.
The answer really depends on your operating system, which hasn't been mentioned. But if you are running LR CC 2015, then you need Lightroom 6 and not Lightroom 5.
The crashing might be eliminated if you turn off the graphics acceleration (go to Preferences, click on the Performance tab, then uncheck the box)
Do you own any version of LR at the present, Any Version from 1 to 5?
If you don't then the best deal is the subscription. LR + PS for $120 a year. LR 6 full version with missing features that are included in LR CC $149 and NO Photoshop.
I'm running on El Capitan 10.11.3 I'll certainly try your suggestion about graphics acceleration.
Hi! I've been using the trial version of Lightroom CC, but the trial is nearly over. Rather than monthly payments I think I'll buy the software on a CD instead as I prefer a one off payment.
One thing to bear in mind is that Lightroom CC sometimes gets new features while Lightroom 6 will not.
To date, this includes
Lightroom 6 owners will have to wait for the paid upgrade to LR7 to get these features.
This may not bother you at all. If so, no problem. I only mention it because some LR6 owners in these forums get very upset when they realize that new features are Cloud (CC) only.
