Adobe freezes on loading the library

Adobe freezes on loading the library.   For hours.  I have tried completely uninstalling it and reinstalling it with no luck.  I have also uninstalled and tried previous versions.  As it is, the Adobe program will not progress past loading library and I have not been able to find a solution to the problem.  For the time being I have to switch to Kindle and other programs so I can continue my job and studies.  The delay on accessing ASCM's that only Adobe can open is detrimental to progress.  Is there any solution to this issue?

Closed Digital Edition.
Rename the My Digital Edition Folder under My Digital Edition.old.
Then start the Software new.

Go to File > Add to Library and choose a file.

Has you renmaned the My Digital Edition Folder under your Documents?
