Hello Adobe team,

it seems, that only the last beta versions are affected and not the final versions.

It will crash on some flash based video websites with protected mode on/off.

Some example websites:

http://www.mtv.com/

http://www.viva.tv

http://www.arte.tv

http://www.vevo.com/tv

...

(select one video and click on the fullscreen button)

Flash Player 20.0.0.274 beta

32-bit = Crash Reports in F_1799236063__________________________________________________

64-bit = Crash Reports in F_828422936____________________________________________________

On Dailymotion.com the video's are crashing directly while loading the page.

Hi Jeromie,

I have retested it with Flash Player 22.0.0.137 & .144 and Firefox 47 Beta & Nightly 49 and it is working now.

dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled was set to true for the tests.

So I would say that we can close this topic as fixed with Flash Player 22.

Regards,

MrX1980

Again, v20.0.0.286 final is working and v20.0.0.294 beta is crashing.

So something is different between the final and beta builds.

Different compiling options ?

Hi Jeromie, in the crash reports I see all main vendors (Intel, nVidia and AMD/ATI), so it is not a graphic card/driver problem.

I use:

- nVidia GeForce GTX 650ti / v361.60

- Intel HD 3000 (i5-2410M) / v9.17.10.4229

- ATI Radeon HD 4670 AGP

Okay, thanks. I'll dig into this today. I didn't have time to look at it yesterday, but I've been seeing some nasty crashes moving in and out of fullscreen specific to the latest Intel 4000 HD drivers. I was hoping it was the same issue.

Hi,

This is not reproducible on my machine :

Firefox 47.0a1/21.0.0.136/Intel HD 4400 graphic card/win 7 64 bit

But I could see a crash on win 7 /Firefox nightly with AMD Radeon graphic card machines.

We are looking into it.

Thanks

Hi,

Please try below steps. I believe it will resolve the issue:

1) Type "about:config" in the address bar of Firefox Nightly and search for dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled and set it as false

2) Now play the videos.

Thanks

Hi, I know that is better with dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled;false, but the question is, why it is crashing only with your beta builds and not with the final builds?

We're collaborating with Mozilla on the feature.  That feature requires code to be present in both products in order to be active.  Our next beta build should resolve this.
