I am having the same problem. I can sign into my Adobe account; just did to get to this forum, but when I try to install Flashplayer, neither my Adobe password or my Apple password works. This is so frustrating!!! Also, why do I have to update Flashplayer

so  frequently?

Hi,

This is the OS, not Flash Player, prompting for the password.  See What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player?  for assistance.

if you don't have a password configured on your system you most likely can just leave the field blank and click OK to proceed.

This didn't work.  The screen still insisted i input a password.

None of my passwords worked.

Any other ideas?

It doesn't give me the option to reset.

Hi,

I'm assuming this is on OSX, if so, please click on the various links in the FAQ I linked to previously for assistance with resetting your password.

Hi,

You're Adobe ID isn't used for installing Flash Player.  Since this is the operating system prompting for the password, you'd use the password you use to log into your system (if your user account has Admin permissions).  If you don't use a password you most likely can leave the field blank and just click OK to proceed.  Please see the FAQ What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player? The FAQ also contains links to Apple resources for assistance with the password.  I encourage you to use those resources.

Flash Player is updated monthly with new features and general bug and security fixes.  You're certainly welcome to not update the version, but doing so would be leaving your system open to vulnerabilities.  You can opt into background updates and Flash Player will automatically update Flash Player within 24 hours of a release, so long as there is an internet connection, no user interaction required.  You can opt into background updates when installing Flash Player (select the 'allow Adobe to install updates' option), or via the System Preferences after Flash Player is installed.  If Flash Player is installed go to System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates tab and select 'allow Adobe to install updates'.
