Can not install Adobe Flash Player

I followed all prompts using Firefox. The process went as far as a window called "Adobe Download Manager" and stopped.I am using Vista.What is going on?

Im using mac OSX 10.6.8 and have firefox 46.0.1. After its downloaded and i open the insall flash player it wont open only 'bounces' in the dock

Just to follow on from my last comment. This is what happens, with nothing happening at the end just the flash player icon bouncing in the dock! I really appreciate the help. As you can see i have tried a few times haha

Does the installer actually launch?  Please post a screenshot of the window that is hanging.
