Why does Adobe Digital Editions freeze when I try to download an e book from the public library?

Nanaky, does not matter how we open it, ADE is simply not working for a lot of us and Adobe does not seem to care !

Today I have been getting a "program not responding" message when trying to open ADE.  I have downloaded library books probably 100 times before using the same download method.

I download the library e book then  open ADE as instructed by the library.  When the e book is downloaded I move it to library on ADE then transfer it to my Kobo. This has worked in the past but recently the e book has not been downloading, instead I get a a blank insert with the word Copy on the top left hand corner. At this point ADE stops responding.

If you open the file in Digital Edition get your the error that orgial file are missing? Seems has problem to found the orginal file for copy.

Without success.  ADE does not seem to work anymore and is completely useless.  Adobe dont make any money from readers so clearly dont care about it.  Competition is needed for an alternative e-book reader.
