Error opening RoboHelp 9 File (rhbag.apj)

When I try to open a file in RH 9, I get an error message that says:  "An error occurred while trying to read data from <C:\Data\RoboHelp Projects\DSDM\rhbag.apj> <1>."

Although I can see all of my files in the project using Windows Explorer, nothing shows up in RoboHelp.

Any suggestions?

Backup the project first, then try deleting the CPD file and reopening it.

If that fails, take a look at http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/opening/opening_projects.htm for other methods of opening a project.

Thanks Peter.  I contacted Adobe and they had me remove both the .cpd file and the .xpj file and then reopen using the .hpp file... and that worked!

Generally I would advise against deleting the XPJ file until deleting the CPD file has failed to fix a problem, and then only being aware of the downside of doing that.

OK, that makes sense.  I had tried deleting just the .cpd file before contacting Adobe and that didn't work.

Fortunately, it seems to be ok now.... fingers crossed.
