I work in an agency where we create a lot of InDesign files for various pieces of artwork on one project at a time. In order to show all the artwork in one PDF we generally import all the individual InDesign artwork files into a separate single InDesign file and then create a PDF from there. The problem is this makes the single InDesign file huge in terms of memory and also makes it susceptible to crashing the InDesign application or worst of all corrupting a file where you can't open it upon restart.
Is there a plug-in or easy way to make the single InDesign file smaller but at the same time still importing other InDesign files into it?
Why not just use the book panel to do this?
You can also place INDD files in INDD files.
You can also export out the individual PDF files and combine them in Acrobat. This would save you the file space in ID and achieve the same end results.
