Hi,
I'm using a background update server to upgrade our network computers (Windows 7 X64) from Flash Player 16 to 23.
Everything works fine, client are updated fine except that FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe file is deleted after upgrade, same for the service who call this file, and for the automatic task that call the service...
Here is my mms.cfg :
SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
AutoUpdateDisable=0
SilentAutoUpdateServerDomain=NameOfMyServerMasked
SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1
And here is the install log :

Thanks for your help.

Thank you for posting the log files. This is due to permissions errors on the file system and/or registry. The error is in the last line of the log file:
0017
1031 is the Flash Player error code when there are permissions issues on a file. The number 5 is the ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED Microsoft error code. Due to incorrect file system and/or registry permissions the file can't be created, which results in the Background Update Service Task and Service not being created.
The Troubleshoot Flash Player install issues related to Windows registry permissions help doc has information on fixing this, as does the FAQ How do I fix Windows permission problems with Flash Player? The script posted here is very restrictive to Flash Player files, however, it's possible another file, indirectly used by Flash Player installer, is the cause. If running this script doesn't work, you can try running this script from Microsoft, available at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/968003, which resets permissions on all files/registry entries in the system

Hi m_vargas,
I understand that it's a permissions problem, but the fix you asked to apply doesn't fix the problem.
I've tried with others versions of Flash player, it's always the same behavior the flash player works fine, but during background update the FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe seems to be in use and cannot be update by the process.
Same for Update task that is deleted but not created again.

Hi Boris, to help us resolve this issue please perform the following troubleshooting steps and share the results with us:
1. Create a Process Monitor log file:
You can download Process Monitor from: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processmonitor.aspx.
Run Process Monitor and remove any default filters. Then reproduce the issue, waiting until the FlashPlayerUpdaterService.exe file is deleted. Then send us the Process Monitor log file.
2. Install the old Flash Player using an EXE installer instead of an MSI installer, then try to reproduce the issue. You can find old Flash Player EXE installers at Archived Adobe Flash Player versions.
3. Disable any running antivirus programs, then try to reproduce the issue.
4. Launch a command prompt "As administrator" and run the commands below, then try to reproduce the issue.
net start PcaSvc
net start AeLookupSvc
Thanks,
John
