Adobe Digital Editions Issue - Error Activation Required

I installed Adobe digital editions and authorized my computer and a Nook.  I tried to download an EPUB from the library2go lending service to the computer and received the error message stated in the title.  I contacted Customer Care at Adobe and they referred me to the forums for help stating that Digital Editions was only supported by the forums.

Has you authoirze Digital Editoin under Help > Computer authorize?

Mine would not even let me authorize digital editions so I could download from the library etc.  It came up server error.  What would that be?
