I deauthorized my device and computer to try and solve a problem with a library book that wouldn't load. I must have had multiple Adobe accounts and now ADE has defaulted to an old work one. I have no idea what the password is and can't access the email account so I can't deauthorize and start from scratch with whatever account was associated with the library downloads. I can't use ADE and without ADE I can't read library books on my Kobo. Any ideas about what to do next?

In the end I had to do this and it worked:

Windows:

    Close all applications.

    Choose Start > Run.

In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.

In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept

    Select the Adept key.

    Choose File > Export.

In the Export Registry File dialog box, select Selected Branch under Export Range. Enter a name and location for the backup registry key, and then click Save.

Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.

In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.

    Close the Registry Editor.

Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.
