NEF files not loading into Lightroom

when I upload NEF raw files from computer it shows "no preview" and I can't upload the pics

Any idea?

Mac or Windows? Which version?

What exact NUMBER version of lightroom?

Which camera?

Using a card reader or directly connecting the camera?

The D800 is supported since LR4.1. Thee mus t be some other issues?

Are you using Copy in LR import or Add? If Add, how did you move the files to the Mac? Direct connection or card reader? Tools?
