Interactive PDF display

I have uploaded my interactive pdf onto an LMS but the tiles that are roll overs/buttons are displaying with extra boxes. How do I stop this?

Below is a screen shot to show the boxes I don't want, the shadowy square ones around the tiles and mouse icons (ignore the blurry words I have done that).

Buttons are always rectangular. As for the rollover highlights, what PDF reader is that?

Do they show up in Acrobat or Reader?
