Project will not upload

I have been in the middle of editing a project for the past 3 days. Tried to continue working this morning and the computer does its occasional update. When it finished, I  tried to reopen my project and a box popped up which read "Adobe Premiere Elements 12 has encountered a problem and will have to close".

Computer: PC (Dell Inspiron 15)

OS : Windows 10

I have not taken any steps to trouble shoot the issues because I don't know what steps to take.

After updating did you reboot the computer before opening E12?

Yes, I did restart the computer. Still did not help.

Do you think it would help if I uninstalled and reinstalled?

I would lose any of my projects will I? Will my project still be how they were the last time they were saved?

I am unsure what type of graphics card my computer has. Where can I find this info?
