I have always imported metadata tat I have written in Nikon ViewNX using "read metadata from file. However, I have now upgraded to ViewNX i and now metadays do not appear when I use "Read metadata from file" How shall I import metadata to Lightroom that I already have entered when using ViewNX i

Seems like a problem with View NX and not Lightroom.

But the obvious solution is to create the metadata in Lightroom from now on.

We can determine whether this is a problems specific to LR or ViewNX.  Upload a sample photo that you've processed with ViewNX to Dropbox (or similar) and post the sharing link here.  We can take a look to see where the problem might be.
