Now that I have upgraded, I can't seem to open files. I get the follow pop-up error message:

"Cannot open "filename". The file "filename" is damaged (error code: 4).

This puts me in an awkward spot, to say the least. I need help.

The first thing I would try is restoring your InDesign preferences:

Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

If that doesn't work, I would use the CC desktop app to uninstall CC 2017 and try installing again. It could be a bad installation (a rare event).
