I have a slideshow of images set to music that I am trying export. I've tried various video resolutions but I just get the following screen...

Screenshot 2016-11-15 21.02.12.png

It's been like this for over 9 hours today.  Tearing my hair out can anyone help?

I'm on a almost brand new 27" imac running Sierra.

It's probably due to the Portrait image bug described here: Lightroom: Will not export both portrait and landscape oriented pictures as a slideshow video in 720 or 1080 | Photoshop…

Try removing all portrait vertically oriented image files and see if it works.

trshaner Yes I've tried that several times.  Tried rebooting too.

Tried all 4 export resolutions.

Still doesn't work.  I can preview it and play it in LR fine but it refuses to export. All other settings are the same as other slideshows I've exported, same template etc.

Tried using original dng files tried with virtual copies. Still no joy.

Not sure if you still have this problem, but....

Found that yes, LR does not like portrait in video exports.  I had cropped my photos and had a combination.  After removing those that were cropped portrait, still no luck.  Then it dawned on me.  All of the original photos were in portrait mode and even though I had cropped them landscape, LR knew they were portrait.  DUH.  So, I exported them to JPG and then selected only JPG.  LR then thinks of those as originals in landscape mode.  Unfortunate they have this bug.

After further experimenting if I remove all vertical images from the slide show it exports fine!

Can anyone else replicate this?

I can replicate it on my Windows 7 system with LR CC 2015.7. It appears LR isn't able to rebuild the previews for vertical orientation images. In the Library module select all of the image files to be used in the slideshow and go to Library> Previews> Build 1:1 Previews. It appears to be a bug, but this should allow you to create the slideshow for now. I see you've reported it here.

Thanks, I currently use smart previews for all my photos.  Will try your work around and see if this fixes it.

Scott, I looked at this a little further and it appears using 'Zoom to Fill Frame' will also cause the Slideshow Video Export to hang.

So for now you'll need to 1) Uncheck 'Zoom to Fill Frame' and 2) 'Rebuild 1:1 Previews' for all images used in the slideshow.

This is at least the case on my Windows 7 system with LR CC 2015.7.

Thanks trshaner the zoom to fill wasn't checked and the rebuilding 1:1 previews hasnt worked either.

Strangley after a reboot overnight the original slideshow exported as a video 1st time with no issues including the vertical shots.

However, I've subsequently tried to export another slideshow and am getting the same issue.

Scott I replied in your post at the Photoshop Family forum. Let's continue the discussion there as that's the best way to get Adobe staff attention.
