I work with CS6 Master Collection, Mac OS Sierra.
Since the installation of Sierra, I have a vague selection in the various menus Indesign version 8.1 (see illustrations).
Is there a solution?

Yeah, I think that makes sense. Here's a link, if you haven't already done it:

I wish you the best.

Note that CS6 is not supported on Sierra.

That said, it's worth trying Mike's suggestion of deleting preferences. If you aren't sure how, here is a link with instructions.

Is the highlighting display off, but works correctly? You can probably get used to that. If not, it might be time to consider upgrading to a supported version.

Adobe software older than the Creative Cloud (CC) versions are not officially supported on macOS 10.12 Sierra. That doesn’t mean they won’t work; it just means that if those old versions have any new issues related to macOS 10.12 Sierra, there won’t be any updates to address them (that is, you’re on your own).

Thanks for the response. I am a photographer and do not have the money for a monthly subscription to Adobe Software. I only use Indesign, Photoshop and Lightroom

I totally understand, Amsteles. If you don't find a solution to the issue, if it's impeding your workflow, and if you can't upgrade to a version supported on Sierra, an alternative is rolling back to an operating system that supports CS6.

Adobe Creative Suite 6 system requirements

Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7*

*While not supported, I have had no personal issues running CS6 on El Capitain. Because of all the issues with Sierra that remain unsolved, I have still not upgraded to Sierra.

For the record, I've got a Mac with CS6 running under Sierra just fine (besides having to force quit the fontd process every time I open InDesign). It's the English version, tho, so maybe the language has something to do with it.
