Hi! I'm using INDD CC2017 and I went to place four images in a grid, however, when I use the arrow keys to set the columns and rows, nothing happens. Is this feature lost or is there a new way to do it?

Nope that doesn't work! How about saving the artboards to individual files if the grid is important? (And I tested in 2015—doesn't work there either.)

It is still working exactly the same for me on 2017. Let's start with the simplest: are you using the arrow keys on the numeric keypad with Num Lock on?

Hi Barb, I'm using a group of arrows in the middle section of my full mac keyboard. I don't have the option to deactivate num lock.

Me too. And I taught it this week with students on 2017 with no issues, so I'm not sure what is going on.

You can try deleting preferences. Or the old standbys—close and reopen InDesign. Reboot.

Maybe these images make a difference:

1. I'm placing images that live on artboards in an AI source doc (CC 2017)

2. When I go to place them, there is a cursor with an Acrobat symbol and superscripted plus sign.

Does INDD think I'm placing multiple PDF docs?

Ah. So you are trying to place multiple images from a single Ai doc, but from individual artboards in that file? Let me go play with that for a moment.

Interestingly enough, it will let me multiple AI files as other image files into the grid with the arrows, but it doesn't interpret multiple artboards the same way.

Maybe in the next update, lol.

Thanks.
