Purchased lightroom standalone

I purchased lightoom software at best buy about 6 weeks ago. Whenever I try to log-in now it asks me to purchase a creative cloud membership. Why did I spend over $100 for lightroom only to be asked to purchase creative cloud for $9.99/mo which includes lightroom for free?
