When entering precise measurements for an object (i.e. "45mm"), I usually have to enter it 2-3 times as it always changes to a decimal number first (i.e. "45.102mm"). What's going on and how can I avoid this?

I should have been more specific. This pretty much only happens with lines on an angle. In the below case, I typed in 40mm...Have to type 40mm 1-2 more times to get it to actually be 40mm.

Hi nhaims,

yes. There is a bug.

Thank you for pointing this out.

I also can see a strange behavior when changing the length of a graphic line.

Had one that was 71.512 mm in length, wanted to change it to 40 mm.

Typed 40 mm to the edit field and pressed enter to apply the new value. The graphic line was showing up with 39.899 mm. Edited it a second time to 40 mm and then the graphic line showed 40.001 mm.

After changing the value a third time to 40 mm finally the edit field returned with the right length.

Please report that bug here:

I tested and can see this problem with:
InDesign CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC (v9.3.0), CC 2015.4 and CC 2017.

It is working as expected with InDesign CS3 and CS4.

The longer the graphic line and the shorter the new length, the more tries you need to get the right length.
Sometimes two tries are sufficient, but mostly the third try will get you the right value.

Regards,
Uwe
