So, my company has power outages and surges regularly. We've purchased battery back ups for each workstation which has worked incredibly well except for 2 users. Both users are using Macintosh computers and specifically report issues when working in InDesign. Here is what happens, we experience and outage and the computers immediately switch to the batteries ( you can hear it happen ). When this happens, InDesign just shuts down. I don't even believe it auto saves first. It just quits. This happens often enough that users are annoyed and frustrated. The version is CS 5.5.
Might anyone have some insights into why this happens? Better yet, a resolution?
Thanks.
Heather

Are the files stored locally or on a server? In recent versions of InDesign CC (the subscription version), the handling of loss of connection with a server was poorly handled. (You would have to upgrade to get the benefit, however.)
