I am trying to create a vector graphic in PS CS6.  First, is this possible?  I have saved images as EPS files but when I place them in my ID program they are pixelated. I'm totally unfamiliar with vector graphics creation and need guidance. Thanks.

Why are you using Photoshop for this? Illustrator would be a far better choice.

Vectors from Photoshop can only be saved as a Photoshop PDF file, otherwise they are rasterized.

Hi Tamlyn

Steve is correct. I'm interested to know what the end use is for these? Online or print?  Do the files need to be vector for some particular reason? You may be able to create the images you need and just save them at a higher resolution to avoid pixelation. InDesign works well with straight PSD or JPG files. EPS is a bit of a throwback these days. Perhaps if you can post a screen shot of an example image, we could give you a bit more guidance.

It will be used for business front signage.

Do it in InDesign. Shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes.

Yes, as Bob said, you should be able to do this in InDesign. If the file needs to be vector based for the company that is producing the sign, once you have the text sized how you want, just go to Type>Create Outlines. You can export that to PDF if needed.

Unfortunately "Create Outlines" is not an option in my InDesign program under "Type."

You need to select it first but there’s no reason to do so.
