i have 100+ over fonts installed in my Windows System font folder, but i just want InDesign's font dropdown list to display only certain fonts.

Is there a way to acheive this using JS?

Thanks so much...

Why don't you just mark your desired fonts as favorites and apply the favorite filter?

Much more simple than scripting it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

But we (myself, users and customers) are/will still be using the lower InDesign versions e.g CS6 and CS5.

You can add a custom menu at the top next to the File, Edit etc. ones.

"My fonts" with a list of your fonts as sub entries and apply the clicked fonts to the selection.

See Indiscripts :: How to Create your Own InDesign Menus

You could do the same idea with SUI then you could with the earlier CS versions use the actual fonts for the list see Indiscripts :: ScriptUI Fonts Facts  for how to apply fonts. You could then apply a keyboard shortcut and menu item for the script which would be set up as a pallet.
