Hi,

We are 6 persons at the office who are experiencing this problem since the upgrade to Indesign 2017.

Hard to explain, but, when we're trying to change the measurements numbers in the toolbar, the numbers goes into the text instead. we doubled click in the measurement space, just like before, but when we're typing it change the text!!

I made a video to show exactly the problem...

Do a search on the forum, this question is asked and answered many times over: change the text preference to not show adorment on text frame/selection for OpenType

Hi Frans,

this issue is a bit confusing. See also here where a similar bug is reported with the Paragraph panel:

Re: Paragraph Panel Bug

I think, Vineet had the bug with the Control panel in mind (e.g. described by SB@VACV in this thread here) when he suggested to activate the Application Frame as workaround. What would not help with the Paragraph panel bug—it did not in my testing—would work here in this case…

Regards,
Uwe

I can confirm this bug. Mac OSX 10.10.5 on an MacBook Pro from late 2011.

What will help as workaround:

Use:

Window > Application Frame

and/or go to:

Preferences > Advanced Type > Type Contextual Controls

and deselect

Show Adornment on Text Selection/Text Frame for more Type controls

Uwe
