Hi,

I am running LR 5.7 on my Mac which is running Yosemite 10.10.5.  I have a new Sony Camera RX10 III as point and shoot partner to a Canon. LR does not read the Sony Camera. I have not gone to a new cloud based LR because I shoot for a couple of months in the wilderness without a reliable steady wifi. If I get wifi, it is usually satellite based and cannot handle photo transfers. 2 questions; 1. How do I LR to read Sony Raw files and 2. Will a cloud based LR work if I cannot get on line for 2-3 months?

Thanks

You need Lightroom 6.5.1 or later to read these RAW files. FREE Alternative: use the Adobe DNG Converter to convert the RAWs to DNG, then import the DNGs into Lightroom 5.7.1.

Lightroom 6 does not require internet access other than one time when you apply the serial number.

If I get wifi, it is usually satellite based and cannot handle photo transfers.

The "Creative Cloud" name is misleading, and has created a lot of confusion.

Using the CC version of Lightroom does not involve transferring photos to the cloud.

The photos (and the program itself) will, like with Lightroom 5 or 6, be on your local computer.
