InDesign - Fill one frame with contents of another

Hi all,

So I know this is possible as I have done it before but it was a couple of years ago and now I just can't figure it out!

In the screen shot below I want to fill the rounded rectangles with the diagonal writing which currently sits behind them so that the writing is only visible within the rounded rectangles - like in the 2nd image. I'm sure I remember it being relatively simple but I'm just not finding the right option...

Help much appreciated!

Do a composite path of all the rounded rectangles.

Select the rounded rectangles. When on Mac OSX use the keyboard shortcut cmd 8

Cut the background object to the clipboard.

Select the composite path and paste inside the clipboard's contents.

Uwe

Thank you so much - I knew it was simple but spent half an hour getting no-where!

You're a star 🙂
