Is there any decent way to align shapes to make a 3d object to avoid those annoying gaps between them?
I've tried setting the layer mode to Aplha Add like in this video but it doesn't make any difference.

Instead of squares I'm using retangulars shapes (on After Effects CC)
There isn't and for the most part the tutorial is simply typical Greyscalegorilla nonsense. Alpha Add doesn't fix anything with the 3D renderer. It still applies the edge filtering. There can of course be situations where the placment of the camera, the size of the solids in relation to the comp size and the positioning of the 3D layers make it appear like there is no edge degeneration because the antialaising of two layers adds up in a way that it matches exact 100% pixel opacity, but unlike th

It's merely coincidental and at the latest, even if the layer appear to be tight, it will crop up again when you turn on shadows. Only real contiguous 3D geometry and a suitable renderer can avoid this.

That's bad =(
Thank you for the response!
