I guess I was dropped with old email after 7 years...have had Kobo change email and have changed it here (adobe) and new password BUT no one can tell me how to proceed. Kobo wants me to download Adobe (again) but why it is on the computer....so do I uninstall and then install or just give up and go buy a book???

This has been on going since Saturday, wasted almost 4 hours in chat when I got told it was Kobos problem..

Nobody can help you if not write what is his your problem. You write that you have change the kobo id, but what is in this the problem with Digital Edition?
