Is it 8mm video or Digital8? Makes a difference.

Although tape-based capture is no longer supported in Premiere Elements 15, there are ways to capture video that is editable in Premiere Elements.

The camcorder is digital but the tapes may or may not be digital.  I could see the videos on iMovie but iMovie displayed a message that there was not data from the device and the video was not captured.

Fortunately I found the app LifeFlix that allows me to capture and save the video.

Lifeflix is one of the programs I recommend in my books for capturing digital tape-based video to a Mac.
