InDesign CC 2017 gets extreme laggy when stroke applied to text

When a stroke is applied to a big amount of text, InDesign CC 2017 gets extreme laggy!

Resetting the preferences did not work. A computer reboot did not work.

I've applied a stroke to texts many times before this CC 2017 update.

CC 2014 could handle this without problems.

My hardware should not be the issue; iMac 3,5 GHz Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM.

Software maybe? OSX El Capitan 10.11.6

Any suggestions?

Are you using any blend modes on any objects in the same area?

Nope, no blend modes, no effects, … just body text.

Found it!

I have disabled GPU Performance in the preferences.

Works like before : )
