Am I right in saying that for me to use LR Mobile after its 30 day trial I have to pay for Lightroom again, even though I purchased a licence for LR6, or is there some way around this.

Thanks

In order to use Lightroom Mobile, you must be a subscriber to the Adobe Photographer's Plan, which is $9.99 per month in the United States, and it includes Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC and Lightroom Mobile.

You cannot use Lightroom Mobile with Lightroom 6.

There is no way around this.

Ok, so why offer a free trial for something you can’t use?

You certainly can use it! I don't understand why you say that you can't use it. I just explained how you can use it, you subscribe to the Adobe Photographer's Plan.

To suck you in, make you love it and then you'll subscribe. Whey does any software company offer trial versions?

If you develop something that you think others might like, wouldn't you find it to your advantage to offer a trial? If, during the trial, users decide they don't want that feature then they can choose not to pay for it. But those who find an advantage will see a reason to switch to a plan that offers that feature. I don't understand why so many of you look at Adobe as the "evil one" because they offer the creative cloud plan. It's great! Really, it is. But if you don't want it, don't begrudge the company because they offer it.

I agree with you. However, I have already paid a one off licence fee to use what is now LR6, and it would appear that the only way I can use the mobile app is to write that off and start again. That was my original question, and as that appears to be the case then I shall do without it. It just seem a shame there isn’t an option for people like me to subscribe at a price that reflects the fact that we already have the bulk of the required software.

$9.99 a month is a rockin' deal for PS alone... I've been listening to people whine about this for years. And it's getting old. If you are a professional, it's not a big deal. Even for a hobbyist it's affordable. So much cheaper than it used to be to own PS and upgrade. I get that you talking about LR and many people stick with LR and don't bother with PS. But for Photoshop users, it's totally worth it.

It is a common sales tactic to get you to upgrade your purchase.
