I think this has more to do with your operating system and monitor settings than it does with InDesign. If you tell us what OS you have (Windows 10, Mac OS 10.9, etc.), someone will probably be able to give you specific help.

I don't use Windows, so I can't help you, but you should get a reply from a fellow Windows user very soon.

Thanks, I tried, it does not help, problem still there

But in the referred discussion there are two files, I find only one

I am on Windows 10 last update and Indesign CC 2017.0

I find only : C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 12.0\fr_FR\InDesing Defaults

Is there an other file ?

Thanks for your help

Hidden menus even display to the left when using a 2 column toolbar, but only when the window is on my right monitor. It's odd.  Switching to a single row panel knocks it over to the top of my left screen as if the INDD window is over there. I smell a bug.

Win 7 here.

Windows likes to pop things open on the primary monitor, in my experience.

I fully agree, I had a discussion with Adobe support, It seems I am the only one in the world having this problem, so that's not a bug !!!!!!

Thanks for the help

I have exactly the same issue with the latest InDesign on Win7.

My primary monitor is on the right side and the second one on the left and when using the toolbar on my primary monitor the popup menus fire up on the left side...

The red line is where my primary monitor ends.

If I will have this bug, I will never known about it. You can ask me - Why?

the answer is simple: use shortcuts

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner
