InDesign will crash and become unresponsive after periods of inactivity.
No error logs generated by the program itself, however logs are created in Event Viewer.
Running Windows 8.1 Pro, have tried reinstalling and reimaging without success.

Try trashing your InDesign preferences:
Close and relaunch InDesign, and IMMEDIATELY hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac), and respond in the affirmative to the dialog asking if you really want to replace the preferences. You must be extremely fast on the keyboard (if you don’t see the confirmation prompt, you were too slow).
You may need to do this a couple of times before getting the hang of it!

Thanks for the response Derek
Will give this a go when I have access to the PC again.
I would've thought the complete rebuild/reinstall would have completely wiped the preferences though?
