Just installed Flash Player 24,0,0,186   Early in the installation, the installer "recommends{" that something called "SafeSearch", and a nasty called "MacKeeper" and some other package. After this, it gives no warning that these are also being installed. Nowhere, is there permission requested. Yet, these things ended up on my machine. Clearly,  some hacker must have gotten into Adobe's installer and added these malicious pieces of (expletive deleted). Please, how can I get thus unwanted stuff off my machine (MacOS Sierra 10.12.2).

It was one of the entry points to xfinity user accounts. I believe that it was at

But it is not not responding similarly. I do have the offending software removed.

Thank you

Hi,

Official Flash Player installers do NOT include SafeSearch or MacKeeper.  Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce with either of the two links.  I'd be surprised if a company like Comcast would be distributing a malicious Flash Player installer.  Did you have any other tabs open when this happened?  If you find the offending URL, please feel free to report it to abuse@adobe.com.

Thank you, I will report encounters. It has to be hard for a company like Adobe to be inundated with these scams. And, I will be more careful; I let my guard down just because it was a trusted site. No, there were no other tabs open at the time.
