Converting metadata to hyperlink

Using Acrobat 9 Pro is it possible to convert object metadata within a PDF to a hyperlink?

So for instance I have created a PDF drawing with a number of graphic objects, each object has metadata with a number of fields that can be viewed under the Model Tree. The text entry within one such field has been populated with an absolute path link to say another PDF file or better still to a specific page within the same PDF. Is there a way to make this an active link rather than just editable text?

This would seem a much cleaner and more efficient way of linking than using the Link Tool.

Thanks in advance.
