ReelSteady plugin support for Windows cc2017 apparently requires a patch from Adobe. Is that forthcoming?

Possibly. We're just fellow users like you.

Where did you see that they require a patch? What kind of patch?

Q:    The plugin is not working in CC 2017 or CC 2015 on Windows.  How do I fix this?

A:    CC 2017 and CC 2015 is only supported on OSX until further notice.  This is due to a major bug that Adobe has yet to patch in the latest CC 2017 version.  Currently it works in CS6, CC, and CC 2014 on Windows and Mac.  You can roll back to any of these supported CC versions with your Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.  Adobe allows dual installations as well, so you do not need to uninstall CC 2017 in order to have CC 2014 running on the same machine.  Here is a link from Adobe on how to install previous version. helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/download-install-app.html#topic-3

I don't know what bug they're referring to. I'd recommend filing a bug report to Adobe yourself. Make sure they get the links too so they have some context (and you might also link them to this thread too).
