InDesign CS6 will not run reliably on MacOS Sierra. (Or Yosemite for that matter.)

InDesign CS6 came out almost 5 years ago, and was never tested on later operating systems. It is considered end-of-life and will not receive any updates.

You need to run CS6 on older operating systems, or upgrade to InDesign CC (subscription-based).

Correction: I should have said that El Capitan and Sierra are unsupported.

CS6 was supported on Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7. It is not supported on Sierra, so you can expect some oddities when you try to run an application released in 2012 on an operating system released in 2016. Unfortunately, CS6 reached end of life, so Adobe will not be releasing any patches to make CS6 run as expected on Sierra.

I still have CS6 running on El Capitain with no issues—also not supported, but working just fine for me. If no one has a better answer to solve the crazy scrolling, you might consider an upgrade to CC or roll back your OS:

CS6 was supported right to and including Yosemite. Anything later is a crapshoot.

That said, if this is one those Apple Magic mice, they’ve always been troublesome.
